impossible, cont'd
In relation to my last post, I have decided to post my own "Impossible List." As Joel Runyon will tell you, this is not a "bucket list." He lists some solid reasons that I wouldn't be able to state better, so just go ahead and click that if you're curious.
tré's impossiblist:
Get a full sleeve of work by various fantastic artists around the world
Run the TC Marathon
Complete the Nook challenge
Get a PhD
Learn to surf
Learn all the major Romantic languages
Play music on all seven continents
Go to Burning Man
Build a house somewhere on the beach (San Diego or South Padre Island, preferably)
Bike across the Americas
Achieve debt freedom
Publish a book through a real publisher
Sail the globe, get the appropriate tattoos.
*It should be noted that this is an "abridged" version of my list, as some of it is personal.
I encourage you to make your own Impossible List and let it change and grow with time, as I'm sure mine will. Good luck.

impossible
There's not much going on in my life except working with ResLife to prepare spaces for the school year (and working on this fabulous video newsletter:
)so here's a recommendation: the Impossible Manifesto.
The whole idea of the Impossible Manifesto is that "impossible" is something to be ignored, and is often a case of not trying enough. Once we ignore the limits that don't really exist for us, we can do ridiculously amazing things. I won't play it out, though, because Joel Runyon does such a fantastic job of it.

Summer living in Mortensen
Greetings readers! (Blogger tells me you're out there, don't act like you aren't)
How a semester flies. After a fun four months of moving, QSU, learning about everything from postmodern poetry to pragmatism, and much more, summer has arrived! I am currently taking advantage of summer on-campus housing in Mortensen, opting not to move for a what would have been a fourth time in the last year.
I am also proudly now an employee of Residence Life as a summer Community Adviser for Mort! This entails many noble tasks, such as addressing student concerns about residential facilities, acting as a liaison between students and the Department of Residence Life, and planning fun events for our summer residents to engage in their communities. I'm having loads of fun working with other students and with our pro staff team.
I'm also having plenty of fun enjoying the city for the summer. Last weekend, for example, I went and checked out the Landscape of the Mind exhibit at the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, just right across Riverside from our wonderful campus. The exhibit runs through June 30, and I recommend it highly. Next weekend is TC Pride, and I can't wait to take part in all of the festivities that it entails. It's hard to be bored around here.
I never know how to end these blog posts, so, uh, bye.

Fun things to do over spring break
I can't say I know of anyone doing anything super exciting for break. I haven't heard of any Cancun or Miami trips; everyone's just staying here or going to their parents' place. So, I've decided to make a list super fun awesome spring break activities that everyone can enjoy, whether you're in a resort town in the middle of nowhere or kickin' it in South Padre.
1. Catch up on sleep.
This is pretty legit. We're college students, and therefore notorious for not getting anything resembling a decent amount of sleep. So, by all means, spend spring break entirely in bed. Actually, maybe you should leave to use the restroom.
2. Catch up on homework.
"Fun fun fun fun" - Rebecca Black, poet and world leader. I'm sure we're all completely caught up on the mountains of homework our professors give us like we don't have other classes, but if you're not, spring break is the perfect time to make sure you've had a little more fun than you can handle this semester! I for one intend to read about three and a half books for classes I'm behind in. Fun fun fun fun indeed, Ms. Black.
3. Go to work.
I am currently free of employment (I'll get to that in a minute), but if I weren't I could imagine having a class free schedule leading to spending more time at work. Depending on how one makes money, this could lead to an increase in dealing with hostile customers, dealing with hostile managers, waking up way too damn early for this, handling lunch/dinner rushes, or even working in a factory for eight hours a day!
4. Look for employment.
The recession waits for no one! If you aren't employed, and you like food and not living with your parents (read: me), it's probably time to get a job. This is totally the super easiest thing in the world right now. Bonus points if you can find something that actually fits with your class schedule and even more if it's something you could like.
These are just a few of the wonderfully fun things one can do this spring break. This list is by no means exhaustive; I didn't even touch the potential cleaning one could do this break. This is simply to get you started while we all anxiously await the return of our completely manageable student routines!

Busy life
I got emailed by the lovely Beth Moy to remind me that I am neglecting this seedling of a blog. I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, it's not the only thing I'm neglecting, as is all too often the case in college life.
I started this semester with a morning routine planned, including a workout and Coffee Break French (highly recommended if you're looking to learn) lesson. For the first week I was all about it. I got up, put on some ign'ant rap or punk music and attempted to destroy my muscles so they could rebuild themselves stronger. I showered off, hair and makeup, and sat in front of my computer repeating rudimentary French phrases at my computer in what must have looked quite silly had I done it around anyone.
I also did my class readings on time and all of the appropriate assignments. I even did them a couple of days ahead of time. However, until about an hour ago, I was already behind.
I think I need to look at my habits and identify where I'm losing all of this time. The StumbleUpon toolbar at the top of my screen may have something to do with it, and I can only imagine how low my productivity would be if I were still on Facebook.
I need to nip this in the bud if I wanna have as kickass of a semester as I hope to. Wish me luck.

I am rather hungry...
...and rather broke. Does anyone know when the caf opens again?
Edit: Not till dinner on Sunday. Looks like more peanut butter sandwiches!

Moving from Mortensen to Mortensen!
This week, my wonderful roommate Adam and I moved from our room in Mortensen to our room in Mortensen. Adam has been hired as a CA on the 12th floor, so we moved from 1108 to 1208. Up a whole floor to almost the exact same room. It's a bit confusing, honestly, especially going back and forth carrying boxes all day.
Our new room is exactly like our old room but with different cabinets and carpet (better in both cases, I believe). Also, we now enjoy a view that is almost above Urness. I'm sure it will look great once there are leaves on the trees.
Moving was too much, though. I'm tired and rather happy to no longer have things required of me. Today is a day for chillin'. Watch some football, play some guitar, maybe go get some Luce, and maybe even change socks. There's a whole world of possibilities.
